I haven’t died

However, my cousins’ grandma, and my adopted grandma, has. Grandma Hilly took care of me as my “day care provider” from weeks old til I went to school/my mom stopped working as a hairdresser sometime after Alli was born. She was also my primary babysitter, with a few people in their occasionally. Lots of good memories, including sleepovers there with Justin and Erika Kaiser and Alli. While it wasn’t completely unexpected due to age, I didn’t know it was coming so it was a big shock for me, and I’m really sad I can’t get home for the funeral. Next week I could have (my spring break) but this week I have lots of tests. But can’t expect death to be convenient.
It’s been a long time since I posted, and caught up with people in general. I hope everyone realizes I’m just not good at that to begin with, and that I’ve been really busy, and it isn’t anything personal.
In great news, failed a test today. Got a 58% on it. However, highest other graduate student score - 66% so, no one did well. I actually got the third highest score. Some obviously ridiculous undergrad got a 96%, but when you are as weird as he is, you’ve got nothing else to do but study non-stop. We actually wrote the professor a letter the week before telling him how little we were learning and how we didn’t like the way the class was going, and then we got a ridiculous test that did not cover what we did do in class. He’s an idiot. Seriously, knows his stuff, but can’t teach for anything. And he’s from Minnesota, embarassingly enough. Hasn’t responded to our letter, so we are going over his head to get something done. We have to have the class on our transcript. But what is the point if you don’t even know anything about the subject? So irritating.
I have been working at ‘bees, mostly waitressing, making some good money. Wedding news…. haven’t done much but will get invitations done over break. Some girls are going to come up and help me out, and I’ll buy dinner.
Speaking of dinner, I’ve never eaten out for dinner so much in my life except for vacations. We eat at Applebee’s on the weekends since I work doubles, and we’ve been going out to eat once or twice a week. Not fast food either (not gourmet either) but we’ve been so busy and Bryce isn’t a culinary expert. We actually have some money, so that helps too.
An idea Bryce and I are bouncing around is doing our own version of a newsbleep. Not in the same vein, but just something we write up and film. With our scenery, it could probably be pretty cool.
Since I’ve never really done the whole Lenten sacrifice, I again didn’t do one. However, my goal is to start working out, or at least doing something healthier is my goal. Everyone know what Bryce’s Lenten sacrifice is? Not drinking beer at home. Mixed drinks, wine are ok, or if we go out, beer is ok… any thoughts on that?
Friday should be fun - my friend won a vip party at a bar/club, so we get in for no charge, dinner, and $1 drinks from 6-8 p.m., and then dancing to a band. then a few people are staying at my place afterwards because our DD is Wayne who lives in the same set of apartment complexes (in another building), and well, they are girls, so it only makes sense. We have a couch, a chaise lounge, and an air mattress, so we have room.
As most of you know, Bryce and I have become addicted to American Idol. I like it because it isn’t about the drama of putting people together in a house or some annoying thing, but is about people showing their talent. I have some favorites, but as usual, most of them I don’t really like. I’m like that, I either really like them or I can’t stand them. Why are some people so annoying?
OK, maybe enough rambling for tonight. Just wanted to let everyone that I didn’t fall off the face of the Earth. Yet.
