Happy Halloween. I just hope someone here at work has a camera so I can show ya’ll what I dressed as for Halloween. I knew there was a chance of me dressing as this and sure enough things fell into play for me to add to my costume.

Ok, I got a picture of it:
3 hole punch Bryce

#36 is Peaches by the Presidents of the United States of America. Yeah, I know, pretty unoriginal going from Lump to Peaches, but I liked them both at the time and couldn’t figure that one was that much better than the other, so I put them back to back, Peaches got the edge.

Well, the Packers certainly made my jaw drop. That was a very impressive first throw of OT and Favre only having one incompletion in the second half was amazing. The old guy still has his stuff, but remember, for all those completions, what came of it? Not a single second half touchdown.

In workout news, I have cut out a lot of my cardio. I jog to the gym and back (1/4 mile max) and sometimes run sprints on this track and thats about it. I want to join a gym and get playing basketball but I’m sure I won’t. Too much money, just one more bill and then you still have to just hope the 1 court they have will be open.

#37 is Lump by the Presidents of the United States of America
I got to love this song through Weird Al and “Gump”. I loved that, realized it was a parody and listened to the original version.

Funny story, before I had a portable CD player, portable cassette player, and definitely before I had an MP3 player when we would go on trips I would bring a boombox. Crazy right? Well, I’d plug it with 8 D batteries and we’d be off. When we went to Duluth to watch dad run in Grandma’s Marathon we stopped in St. Cloud and I went into Best Buy and bought the Presidents of the United States of America’s cassette. I thought they were a humor band and all their tracks were funny. For the most part I was right, but that doesn’t mean they don’t cuss. So I excitedly put the cassette in and track 1 is “Kitty”. I’m laughing even though it is mostly not funny and finally dad yells to turn off the sound. I plug my headphones in and not 15 seconds later the “F**k you kitty you’re gonna spend the night” verse comes on and I remember being horrified that I had bought this tape and more horrified thinking, “what would mom and dad done if they had heard such filth”.

Well, they didn’t heard, they probably still haven’t heard that song, and I think we’re all better people for it.

Lump.

So, the weekend is over and it is bitter-sweet. Notre Dame didn’t lose but the Vikings lost to the worst possible team to lose to, the Eagles.

So, I have made 2 fashion faux pas at work, 1. I wore a sweater to work. Apparently I’m more of a colored shirt, t-shirt, white-beater shirt guy rather than a sweater guy. In fun I called it my Dr. Huxtable sweater and that got some laughs and 2. a black colored shirt, black undershirt, and black pin-striped pants. Too much black, I was asked if I was impersonating Johnny Cash, going to a funeral, and a member of the black panthers.

Lesson learned: no more black on black, tan or green pants next time and the sweater I’m saving for cold days only.

Hit ‘Em High by Various Artists on the Space Jam soundtrack.

This track has Method Man, Coolio, LL Cool J, and other rap superstars. I still really like this rap, it has an awesome collection of rap artists which apparently were all employed by the same record label and thus the only reason you could get them all on the same track.
My favorite part: LL Cool J’s part. The song seems to build towards his part, but nonetheless, it steals the show.

Today I get to watch my Vikings play in HD against the Eagles, get what is quickly becoming a Sunday tradition in Linds’ Famous Wings (I will make her make them when we’re home over Christmas and you’ll all love them), and it certainly seems like fall here in Philly as the temp was 49 degrees when we went to church this morning. But most of all I get to tell you all about #39 of 40.

#39 Freshman by the Verve Pipe.
This was one of those songs that I heard on the Rick Dees top 40, liked it, and then probably 2 months after making this list (which consist of 2 cassette tapes using both A and B sides) I basically quit listening to the song. Now when it comes on the radio I am mostly torn between sitting in silence, listening to the song and singing along, or turning it to some gangsta shit.

Watch Me Crank Dat Soulja Boy den Super Man Dat Hoe!!

Top 40

Following in Miles’ footsteps I have decided to make a serious attempt at posting everyday about stuff that people may not be super interested in.

So, my topic: My Top 40 favorite songs list that I created around 10 years ago as a 13 year old.

Song #40
Whatever by En Vogue.
The reason this song made it was because I had heard it on the radio and being 13 I was moved by its wicked beats. En Vogue is a bunch of chicks singing and singing it right. I have never heard another En Vogue song.

No Post Today

Sunset Atlantic City

This picture is of Linds, Alicia, and Justin as they walk into the sunset at Atlantic City. I believe you can see Bally’s in the background.

Mouse

This is one of two mice that have gotten out and the cats have chased. He was pretty docile because he had been carried around in Bear’s mouth and batted in the head several times. If it hadn’t been for the cats, we may have never known we had a mice problem. Linds has since began a mouse bloody purge using peanut butter to lure them out of their homes and then snap their necks when they go to eat it using a contraption called a Mouse Trap (semi-related to the game). This mouse was murdered days after this photo was taken. His name was Ben.

Seasoned Crab

This picture was taken at a sports bar (ranked by ESPN as the 3rd best in the country) called Chickie and Pete’s. Linds was eating some seasoned crab legs and hates using napkins, apparently. You should see her eat wings and rips. Hello Grandpa Tip.

Case Race

When you have binge drinking parties it isn’t “if” there will be drama, it’s “what” will the drama be. The Arcadia Forensixxx’ Case Race Party was no exception.

I got home and Linds’ mood was about preparation. We must eat food that will help us absorb the alcohol and remain coherent, we must prepare a beer bong to quickly down beer, we must build a beer pong table to down beer funner, and show up early to be ready to drink. With all that planning how could anything go wrong??

So, we were one of the first people to show up and most of the party we were there for missed any real drama. I consumed 8 to 9 beers during the 2-3 hour race, Lindsey probably led the team with 16 (that’s my girl), and our team lost due to a couple non-scientist football players to pound beers HARD.

I actually had the opportunity to “re-meet” many of the Forensixxx first years that I had time-traveled through our first introduction due to my own individual case race that I went through during the last meeting. For the most part, they are all pretty cool. But Science-y. (shudder).

Just as Phil and his girlfriend Jackie arrived to meet and greet the Forensixxx we left the party, gave them a tour, and went to bed. One of us rested well while the other more or less just passed out. Hard.

It was a pretty good party, I was ultimately glad I didn’t drink very hard because I felt pretty good the next day while those who drank harder were feeling pretty bad. And it isn’t like the winners of the race won anything.

So, does this constitute as a real post? More importantly lets talk about Notre Dame.

Does he start Clausen or the “Sharp”(er)ly? In my opinion we had a decent chance at stealing a win against Purdue at Purdue (the lesser Indiana D-I school). So, does ND become “ok” with abandoning the running game that it seemed they were prepared to make their backbone at the beginning of the season starting Jones over the other two quarterbacks? So we were only going to run the ball if we had a running QB who considers himself a thrower first and a runner second. Thirdly, was it that the QB’s were that bad, or the wide receivers just didn’t have time to get open? My guess, both, with an emphasis on the wide receivers. Here’s why, YES, I know the Offensive line has let everything through the line to attack Clausen, but when Sharpley got in there and finally found the wide receivers this forced the Defensive line to respect the pass and to quit blitzing. If the WR’s just got open quicker during some slant routes, which is what ended up bringing the Irish around during Purdue, the D sits back or risks a big play in the middle. Losing 2 of their best WR’s and their best QB (and their best RB) this season clearly hurts. It is a rebuilding year, no doubt, I just hope we can win a few games down the stretch. I’m looking at you Duke, Air Force, and Navy. Please, dear God, 3 wins, I would be satisfied. Hell, lose all of them and beat USC and it’s a success.

Got that out of my system. Want more?

Grey’s is back, people. Who’s watching? I’m watching. My season 3 on DVD came the day before the season started and how did Linds and I celebrate? By putting it up on the shelf unopened to collect dust and make it look like a more impressive library.

The Office, in my opinion, was weak last week. I laughed a couple times, but Pam and Jim getting together is a let down. It has to be like The Wonder Years when Kevin and Wendy were together, apart, together, apart, etc. until the very end. I don’t even remember if they ended up together, but it doesn’t even matter, you have to be pulling for something to be interested. Jumping back to Grey’s, what a disappointment that George and Izzy are gonna probably start a thing. Come on, she’s unstable and would fall in love with anything if it just gave her some attention. She’s fragile as my delicate ego. Bad idea, we’ll see where it goes.

So, Linds and I have moved, We now live in Hatfield and are excitedly awaiting the arrival of Justin Kaiser and Alicia something (Danielson, Mrs. Doug something). What are we going to do? Who knows? Tourist stuff? Drinking? Clubbing? Haunted Houses? Atlantic City? Guitar Hero? Yet to be determined.

Oh man, what else. I’m torturing my readers and starving my wife. Speaking of my wife:
Lindsey is good I think. She is in that situation where all of her teachers think they have the most important class in the school. No doubt it’s a lot of work, but she doesn’t complain and I think all is going well. It’s weird thinking of the 16 year old girl I started dating back in high school will soon be doing what she has been talking about since our first date. She wants to work with DNA and stuff like that, I still think of Jurassic Part when she says DNA. And you’ll all be sooo jealous when we have a TRAINED AND OBEDIENT Veloci Raptor and you have cats and dogs. I am soo proud of Lindsey though, Linds and I have been working out together and she’s been doing great. She’s losing weight, building muscle, and we’re both watching our diets. We have opposite goals, I’d like to gain weight and she’s looking to cut down (as if she had far to go anyway, but a goal is a goal). I’m mostly glad because you can tell she’s feeling good about her results, so she’s already seeing the difference. I’m getting stronger, but not seeing results as quick. I also miss sports, running and lifting is good and you feel the burn, but nothing beats a basketball/frisbee/etc game and the thrill of victory.

That’s all. Eat it mom, this is a big ass post. I’m good for a while.

This was also funny

If you don’t know, Kanye West, good rapper, not a good sport. He’s as famous for his beats as he is for his complaining about losing. This makes fun of that:
