Alli and Alex; Computer Problems
Mom, you’ve inspired me.
So, this lent Linds and I were like, “well, we could quit drinking, but we really hardly drink so we should pick something else” I chose soda and she decided she’d make it mandatory to go to the gym 4 times a week and to show up for work on time. So far, I haven’t cheated…she has.
But, I completely made up for not drinking much when a couple 21 year old college kids came to visit us on Spring Break.
Highlights:
Forced Alli to watch a UFC fight; Youtube video: Unforgiveable (Do not watch, mom), Hulu SNL video: I like chasing cars; Great Lakes Brewery Tour; Darts/Local bar for 4 hours; Zoo; Zach Giese video clip (mom, do not watch).
It was awesome having our first* guests here in Ohio and I think they had a lot of fun.
As far as computer problems, one night while drinking and watching internet videos I had the idea to crank on my computer and find some on my harddrive. It won’t boot up. I tried about 5 different ways to boot it up and no luck:
Invalid System Disk
I said it wanted me to put in a boot disk, so I put in Windows XP with no luck, in fact I tried 3 different XP disks!
Then I switched around the boot order
Then I started changing shit I didn’t even know what they meant in the BIOS
Then I tried re-starting it really quick
Then I tried tapping the side of the case
Finally under the BIOS I saw “Restore Default Optimized Settings” or “Restore Default Performance Settings” and clicked the Optimized one.
It reboots and freakin works!
Hey nerds, why’d it work!
Also, nerds, this is the second potentially unfixable problem I’ve had in the last 6 months, do I get a new PC? What do I do with my old Harddrives? If I get a Dell or something I can’t install them without opening the case and voiding the warranty.
And what do I do about an OS? I don’t want Vista.
